چکیده

Introduction The medial thigh muscles –the adductor group– are in the medial compartment of the thigh. The adductor group of thigh muscles consist of adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, gracilis and obturator externus muscles. Collectively these muscles are the adductors of the thigh; however actions of some of these muscles are more complex [1]. Pectineus also belongs anatomically and physiologically and probably in part also morphologically with this group [2]. Present case report includes the variant origin and insertion of pectineus, adductor longus, adductor brevis and adductor magnus muscles. A variant muscular slip has also been observed beneath adductor brevis muscle.

[Case report: primary localization of a hydatid cyst in the adductor brevis muscle].

We present a rare case of primary muscular hydatidosis in the left thigh of a 20 year-old man, who presented with painless mass. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging examinations revealed a multilocular intramuscular cyst in the posteromedial compartment of the left thigh mainly occupying the adductor brevis muscle. This site of localization has not been reported previously. The patient wa...

Obturator Nerve Block with Botulinum Toxin Type B for Patient with Adductor Thigh Muscle Spasm -A Case Report-

Obturator nerve block has been commonly used for pain management to prevent involuntary reflex of the adductor thigh muscles. One of several options for this block is chemical neurolysis. Neurolysis is done with chemical agents. Chemical agents used in the neurolysis of the obturator nerve have been alcohol, phenol, and botulinum toxin. In the current case, a patient with spasticity of the addu...

Ultrasound assessment of adductor muscle size using muscle thickness of the thigh.

CONTEXT Previous studies investigated the relationship between ultrasound-derived anatomical muscle thickness (MTH) and individual muscle cross-sectional area (CSA) and muscle volume in several limb and trunk muscles; however, the adductor muscle that contributes to hip adduction and pelvic stabilization, as well as balance ability, has not been studied. OBJECTIVE To examine the relationship ...
